How to identify fake denim to know what you are really buying
Denim is one of the most used fabrics nowadays, mainly as it last longer than any other and usually has a very good price; however, some companies are pretending to increase their levels of sales, and in order to do so, they have opted to choose fake denim to make their garments, that allows them to offer lower prices.
“Denim fabric is easy to be identified, mainly because of the quality of an original denim can be easily identified, we, at Grupo Denim, make sure our vendors are completely aware of the high quality standards they need to reach on their fabrics so we can manufacture and deliver garments to our customers meeting their requirements” saidSalomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of this company.
Here are some advices that can help you checking if those couple of jeans, jacket, vest or any other denim clothes are using a fake fabric.
- Check the price – That will give you the hint. If a couple of jeans would normally cost $250 and you are able to find them at another place at $80, that might probably be because the latter is using a fake denim, always check the cause of the difference in prices, sometimes it might be a fabric defect or a design that is out of season, but if not, you might be seeing a fake denim.
- Inner label – Each couple of jeans have inner labels that mention the composition of the fabric used on the garment, if it is a fake clothing, it will probably not include that label, if it does, you should take a look at the brand printed on it as if it is a falsification, the brand will be written in a different way.
- Quality – It is true that the actual fashion designs include jeans with lots of finishes and destruction; nevertheless, a true original garment will not tear apart even if it is stretched out, if it is not, the holes will get bigger every time it is worn.
Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal also thinks that “it is quite important to buy garments on serious shops, as buying denim jeans in casual business might save some money but it will not be worth it as the garments will last less than an original one”.
