Denim skirt for summer

denim skirtHow to buy the perfect denim skirt for this summer

Denim skirts were a fashion hit back on the 60’s, with a design that would look like jeans, as they had back pockets, belt loops and a front fly, but since then, the skirts have been evolving into new, softened designs, with decorative details that make them a unique style that would perfectly complement your outfit, as we will show you today.

“Denim skirts come in a great variety of different designs, they are too popular for their versatility, which makes them easy to combine, and for that, a basic garment on a closet”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a Mexican enterprise dedicate to manufacture denim clothes.

Here are some of the most popular types of denim skirts, so you could choose the one that would go better with your style:

  • A-line – A classic denim skirt similar to the capital letter A on its shape.
  • Asymmetrical – This is a stylish skirt, with a shorter side on the front.
  • Full – The full skirt has more material on it, gathered at the waistband, which flows down over the legs and hips.
  • Mini – The miniskirt can reach just the thigh, or sometimes it can be shorter, which are known as “micro-minis”.
  • Pleated – The pleated skirt encompasses a full of material which is reduced in folds, sewn flat to fit a hip level.

In order to know which denim skirt would go better with you, you need to consider several aspects, including the cut, body type and which type would look better for a specific occasion or place.

“Denim skirts have a gone through a long way on the fashion history, there are plenty of choices for all styles, with different fits, shades and cuts” added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal about this topic.

Sewing Machines

Sewing machines

Sewing Machines

The machines of today are a real joy to behold and to use. When I began looking for my own machine as an adult, I was pleasantly surprised that not only are manual machines easier to operate, especially when it comes to bobbin threading, but the computer age has even caught up with the sewing machine-finally.

What are some of the tasks the machine is used for?

  • General tasks such like sewing clothing and mending
  • Home décor (making curtains, pillows, pillow cases, table cloths, napkins, table runners and more)
  • Machine embroidery
  • Machine quilting

What kinds of sewing machines are available?

  • Those having basic features for sewing only
  • Sewing and have embroidery attachments and a special foot for embroidery
  • Sewing and have quilting attachments such as an extension table and special feet, such as the ¼ inch foot
  • Sewing and have both embroidery attachments and feet as well as special quilting feet and an extension table for quilting (these are generally purchased separately)
  • Sergers for that professional finished look to seams

Naturally, the more features a machine has, the higher the cost. Sewing machines can run as low as a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars.

Manual machines are generally less expensive than computerized machines. But, what those computerized machines can do, can definitely make it worth the cost!

Before settling on any one machine, you really have to decide what you are going to use it for now and in the future. That way, it may be worth it to get a more expensive machine with the attachments that can accommodate future goals, such as machine embroidery or quilting. It is also a good idea to get a serger or even one of the new serger attachments that now come with some of the newer machines.

Sewing machines just keep right on advancing, who would have thought a few years ago, that soon there would be machines that could serge as well as sew, and I don’t mean like the common zigzag stitch that machines come with, but real serger quality serging, well almost.

Once you decide what you are going to use the machine for, it is a really good idea to go online to the various machine vendors. Why? Because, the online companies show you all of their models, and most have brochures that you can print out in pdf format, that detail the features of the machine.

“Learning the ins and outs of the operation of the machine is a gradual process, but in order to become proficient at sewing, learning the machine is a necessary step, otherwise sewing is a skill that one can never become really good at, and knowledge and skill is what makes any craft enjoyable” added Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim.

Stain free and never stinks jeans

StainStain free and never stinks jeans, just less laundry meaning!

Denim jeans manufactured with a stain repellent technology and odorless silver technology, just denim jeans that will need to be washed just a few times or maybe never are the last trending.

These jeans are considered the most sustainable because they need less maintenance, made by the Odo Denim Company.

Odorless Silver Technology

Sweat is the main cause of smell in our clothes; however, the sweat itself has no smell but it’s the bacteria feeding on it that makes the odor. Their patent technology uses 99.9% pure silver polymer to kill the odor bacteria for the life of the denim, when the sweat is produced, silver releases and infinite supply of positively charged silver ions which penetrate the surface of negatively charged bacteria and disrupt the cell division.

Stain-Repellent Technology

The leaves of some plants are always clean, this is because dirt can’t adhere to their finely-structured surfaces and is easily washed off by rain. Odo Denim has transferred the same self-cleaning procedure to its odorless denim by using a nanotechnology called nanosphere.

The nanoparticles in the nanosphere finish form a fine structure on the denim surface. Water or any other substances like oil simply run off and any leftover can easily be rinsed off with a little water.

In an interview with Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, he expressed the necessity of more sustainable technologies like these. “We all know that denim jeans are one of the highest water consuming item of clothing, dry process looks require a lot of water, here comes the old story of not washing the jeans very often but some people think that having a pair of jeans for a year without a single wash is just disgusting. I’m so happy to see that there are more companies worried about our planet and sustainability is the present. These technologies are also based on the new information area. This is just fashion that helps our planet”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal.

Type of washes

washesType of washes applied to the jeans

Jeans have different type of washes applied to them to make different styles, as a same type of fabric can look completely different depending on what wash technique is being applied to it, this time we will tell you more about the type washes on the jeans.

“The new technologies allow us to apply different wash options to the jeans in order to present styles that meet our customers’ request and their final consumers can enjoy wearing the best type of jeans”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, an enterprise in Mexico dedicated to manufacture clothes mainly done with denim:

Here are some of the most popular washes applied to the jeans:

  • Acid wash – This was a great option back on the 80’s and it is being more popular nowadays, with bleach techniques on different areas of a jean.
  • Light Wash – Applied to the jeans to keep as much of the normal fabric color as possible.
  • Vintage Wash – Used on different type of “retro” jeans, which gives the garments an older look, one of the most used techniques now that the “vintage” options are taking more popularity each day.
  • Tinted – When denim is immersed in a diluted type of dye of any kind, it can turn the fabric into any color.
  • Whiskers – This wash technique is applied to the jeans by applying bleach in specific parts of the garment in order to make stripes that would look like whiskers, they are mainly placed below the pockets, at the back of the knees, but this can be applied at any part of the jeans if wanted.

“Many people is looking for different options when trying to find the perfect jeans, and the different washes applied to these garments can be the solution to find the perfect fit for a person but with the right style that would complement their personality”, added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal about this topic.

The truth about go shopping

The truth about go shopping clothes on big sizes

The scenario still not the best but let’s review some facts that still happen when go shopping clothes on big sizes.

  1. – Big size starts on 42 size

Yes, and you cannot believe it. For the retail stores, it is less expensive to name them as big sizes and in most of the cases, not to sale the clothes, because expending more money on fabric reduces the benefit; therefore, on the “regular” retail stores on the malls the size breakdown finishes on size L that is a size between 40 and 42. Forget this size, especially when looking for pants.

  1. – Big sizes are sometimes really really big

The range between one size to another sometimes is so many miles away, because there’s no international standard regulation for sizes, some of them are real small and some of them are way too big.

  1. – Big sizes retail stores also ran out of big sizes

If you’re over size 48, sometimes is really hard because not even the big sizes retail store that you trusted has something for you.

  1. – Clothes on big sizes are…less pretty

Because when your dimensions are out of what’s already been established, you need to dress in stamped clothes, wide pants and Lycra most of the time. Is there any cotton available? No. Would you like to have the last trending on your closet? Good luck with that!

  1. – No ideal denim jeans

They are based on the 90’s colors, on a regular cut always and rarely, they are in a light shade.

      6.- Price

If more fabric is used, you need to pay more. This is the business of the manufacturers because they know that others will not have these on their catalog.

Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim thinks that there are not enough retail stores for big sizes so most of the people need to buy them on the internet. “We always offer the size breakdown on our quotes including big sizes, because we understand the need and our customers also understand it, expressed Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal”.

Startup Costs

Estimating Realistic Startup Costs

Businesses spend money before they ever open their doors. Startup expenses are those expenses incurred before the business is running. Many people underestimate startup costs, and start their business in a haphazard, unplanned way. This can work, but it is usually much harder. Customers are wary of brand new businesses with makeshift logistics.

Use a startup worksheet to plan your initial financing. You’ll need this information to set up initial business balances, and to estimate startup expenses. Don’t underestimate costs.

    • Startup expenses: These are expenses that happen before the beginning of the plan, before the first month. For example, many new companies incur expenses for legal work, logo design, brochures, site selection and improvements, and other expenses.
    • Startup assets: Typical startup assets are cash (in the form of the money in the bank when the company starts), and in many cases starting inventory. Other starting assets are both current and long-term, such as equipment, office furniture, machinery, etc.
    • Startup financing: This includes both capital investment and loans. The only investment amounts or loan amounts that belong in the startup table are those that happen before the beginning of the plan. Whatever happens during or after the first month should go instead into the cash flow table, which will automatically adjust the balance sheet.

In general, your Cash Balance on Starting Date is the money you raised as investments or loans minus the cash you spend on expenses and assets. As you build your plan, watch your cash flow projections. If your cash balance drops below zero then you need to increase your financing or reduce expenses. Many entrepreneurs decide they want to raise more cash than they need so they’ll have money left over for contingencies, added Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim.

Main colors for 2016

Serenity and Rose Quartz, main colors for 2016

The main colors chosen on the fashion world for 2016 are Serenity and Rose Quartz, some beautiful colors that reflect a harmonious energy, and designs made with these 2 colors are now at the new runaways.

The Rose Quartz and Serenity colors are as funny as they are sophisticated, these duo colors are a statement of different intentions, and they are also great to combine with some other tones. One of the main characteristics people is looking for in an outfit is the carefree escapism, and this is what the combination of these two tones can create on different patterns, such as floral prints, stripes, checkered or through a block color, which makes them a great choice for you to wear everywhere and in different occasions.

This attractive combination of Serenity and Rose Quartz is also effective with middle tones, such as green or purple, and we will see different garments made with these tones, as well as purses, shoes and hats.

The multilateral approach with these tones matches the social movements that go through a continuity and gender equality, using the colors as an expression for the consumers of this generation who live less worried about feeling judged or typecast. All of this is happening in a moment of exchange of digital information, which has made us more aware about the different tones and how who can wear them, as fashion is more accessible to anyone thanks to the social networks and technology.

Rose Quartz and Serenity have become the new tones for 2016 in a powerful, reassuringly, romantic and discreet way, making the consumers to feel more attracted to the combinations created with these tones, making them a natural ally to our outfit.

“Fashion brings new styles and colors each new season, the ones chosen this 2016 are great and easy to combine, and they go well at all places, which are a great option for tops and bottom”, said Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, a Mexican manufacturer company.

Business Skills Every Entrepreneur Must Have

Most Important Business Skills Every Entrepreneur Must Have

5 Most Important Business Skills Every Entrepreneur Must Have

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, these are the skills you need to have.

Though there are many business skills that a successful entrepreneur will have, the following five skills are the ones that you absolutely need to make your business successful:

  1. Sales

This one is a no brainer of course you are going to need sales skills in order to run your business! After all, marketing can drive customers in to your business, but sales are going to be what keeps them coming back and keeps putting money into your pocket. It is no wonder why most entrepreneurs actually come from a sales background!

  1. Planning

Taking one bad step can make or break your business, especially when it is still in the early stages of development. Entrepreneurs that are successful with their ventures make a plan and stick to it, thinking out every risk, benefit, and cost of an option available to them. They also make their plans realistic and factor in things such as time and budget in order to make their plans a reality.

  1. Communication

Communication is an underlying skill for many others in business (sales included). Communication is how you will be able to cultivate loyal employees, charm customers into coming back time and time again, and court investors and other sources for increasing revenue for your business.

  1. Customer Focus

Successful entrepreneurs keep a narrow focus on the customer that is paying their bills. They do not forget that everything that they do is for the customer, since the customer is the one that is allowing them to do anything in the first place. A good business owner will always have time for a customer, whether they have a complaint or praise. Having good customer focus will mean that you see every customer as an opportunity to do better and grow, versus an annoyance or a difficulty.

  1. Curiosity

The best business skill has always been a healthy curiosity. This will lead you to look into what your competitors are doing, and it will also allow you to utilize new technologies to the best of your ability to streamline your business and even reach out to new customers. When the only limit you have is what you can imagine and apply, just about anything is possible.

“As a business owner, you have to don many hats at the same time. You have to be the leader, the marketer, the sales guy, the negotiator and the networker. You will often be called upon to solve a crisis, help launch a product, and lead a team. The experience can be overwhelming, but fortunately, all these business skills can be learned with a little effort and determination” added Salomón Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim.
