Know how to remove the most difficult stains from your denim clothes
You have for sure heard how little recommended it is to launder your denim clothes, haven’t you? This is in order to avoid your clothes from shrinking or bleeding, but there are certain periods of times when they need to go through wash cycles, but what happens when there are stains that cannot even get removed with a wash cycle? Well, we will talk about the most difficult stains and how to get rid of them.
Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, president of Grupo Denim, said: “The great advantage of denim clothes is that they are easy to care, the cost of their maintenance is really low and you can have them with you for years by giving them the correct treatment”.
Here are some of the worst stains that you can get in your denim clothes and how to get rid of them:
- Grass – Have you ever gone to a picnic wearing your favorite jeans and have ended with a big green stain on them? The solution is vinegar, this will remove grass stains easily from your denim clothes, soak a sponge in undiluted white vinegar and dab it over the stains on your jeans, take off the vinegar with paper towels and repeat as needed.
- Coffee – If you have ever been drinking coffee and have accidentally spilled some over your jeans, immediate soak the affected area in lukewarm water, use a sponge filled with detergent over that area and then put your jeans on a wash machine.
- Red wine – For wine stains on your denim garments the greatest solution is to pour table salt over the stains, leave it there for around 5 minutes and take the salt off your jeans, put paper towels over the stain to let it try and finally launder your jeans in cold water.
- Ink stain – We usually wear our jeans to work so an ink stain is common, to remove it simply soak a wash cloth in alcohol and put it gently over the ink stain, rub your jeans with detergent and water and put your jeans into your wash machine.
“If jeans get stained, it is not necessary to throw them away as there are multiple ways to treat the stains and get them off them and any other denim clothes as this type of fabric is easy to wash and treat”, added Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal.
